Holidays are approaching fast and with the scary state of the world, we’re thinking about how to best impact our local community. What can community care look like? And more importantly, what we can do?

We’re teaming up with our friend and BWOU member, Marguerite Castañeda. We’ll be collecting gifts and donations to support Angel Step Inn—a domestic violence shelter for parents and their children, serving the Pico Rivera and surrounding areas. This is her fifth year of doing this good work and we’re excited to join her.

From there there you have a few options:

1. We’ll send you the wishlist from the families in the shelter. Lists will include specific items like toys for children and also general items that the shelter needs.

   Once you take a look, decide on if you’d like to support with donating for an individual or a family. Let us know by replying to the email so we can make sure everyone’s needs get covered.

2. OR maybe you don’t have the time to shop and you’d like us to shop for you. To donate funds directly, send any amount to @marguerite_ (via Venmo)

THEN, we’ll gather at BWOU on Dec. 7th, where you can drop off donations. We’ll be making cards for families in the shelter, encouraging parents who are making it happen for their families against the hardship of life and circumstance.
